The Bamboota Takeover Collection

The fourth installment of our Artist Takeover Series continues this month with the Bamboota Takeover starting on 1/21 at midnight EST! The guest curator, Bamboota aka. Crystal Fontan, is a seasoned TeeFury artist and talks a bit about how she curated this stalwart set of 19 new designs:

First off, Thanks Teefury for letting me curate a Takeover Collection!! I’ve always wanted to do one! YAY!

My main focus for this takeover was to feature some of the people who most inspire me and have been great friends to me thru the years, but also I wanted to bring in new artists who’ve never been on Teefury before and help them get their art out there!!! 😀

There’s no specific theme for this collection, I just wanted them to have fun with it and be as obscure or as “pop culture-y” as they wanna be! Sometimes, in this business its hard to design things that are not trending, mainly because people won’t understand it, hence they won’t buy it! lol So, there is always some extra pressure to be relevant to the trends so we can have a successful design! Well…I didn’t want these artist to focus on that… I just wanted them to relax and do art… even tho, most of the designs are SW:TFA related! lol ( We’re all just so pumped with the new movie!) Some of the art in this collection are older designs that I loved, but never been featured on Teefury and I felt they deserved a “home”! lol

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in this collection!

Whether it’s the subject matter, the colors, the execution, or the composition, each one of these designs is special to me, just like the people who made them and I hope you like them and buy them! lol 😀
