If you’re a corgi owner like myself, you know that regular dog clothes never fit. With their short legs and long bodies, everything always ends up looking like a crop top! I’ve always wanted to make something custom for my corgi to wear and recently had the perfect opportunity to do just that with one of Tee Fury’s Pup Culture tees!
You’ll want to roughly measure your dog’s length and width first and either use a pre-made pattern like this one or else draft your own based on the shapes below. Just like a regular human T-shirt, a dog shirt consists of 4 parts:
1. Top (the part that covers their back)
2. Bottom (the part covering their chest)
3 & 4. Two front leg pieces
Don’t worry about it being too perfect since you want it loose enough for your dog to still be able to run around and play in! Also, keep in mind the leg pieces are completely optional.
As a reference, I used a size men’s medium for my 40 pound corgi and it worked out perfectly since I made it a little longer than normal. Ironically, I decided to make my tee shorter than normal to give it a cute crop fit. As for the design, I had to go with the obvious choice of one of their corgi tees so I went with the “My Fluffy Neighbor” design. Keep scrolling to see how it all turned out!
